A gorgeous Hermès Ex-Libris Losange scarf. It is handcrafted of cashmere and silk with hand-rolled edges. This scarf was designed by Hugo Grygkar in 1946, and it is inspired by the Hermès Ex-Libris emblem. It was re-edited in 1955 for the French distillery Marie Brizard, in 1981, in 2000 and in 2010 a new design in losange (diamond shape). “Ex-Libris” pattern is one of Hermès iconic design, scarf which features a horse-drawn carriage. A stunning rich combination of letter box red, purple and off-white colour. Behind The Story: Hugo Grygkar was the first artist to design a Hermès scarf in 1937. It was born in Germany in 1907 to a Czech family that moved to France in 1914. Robert Dumas-Hermès developed a strong relationship with Grygkar until his death in 1959. All these scarves are highly sought after and collectable. The Ex-Libris design by Hermès was designed by Hugo Grygkar in 1946. It is one of the house’s classic designs. While the original design is from 1946, it has been re-released over the years in various colours, sizes, and materials, including silk and cashmere.
