A stunning vintage Yves Saint Laurent suit, jacket and skirt from the 1992 Spring-Summer. It is handcrafted in 100% soft cotton, a two piece suit with a fitted Spencer jacket, a fitted skirt with a high waist belt. Front closure with six amazing red heart buttons – the heart was YSL favourite design. A multi colour suit in bright coloured hearts in red, orange, pink, blue and green on a black background in pure cotton. The fitted jacket has short sleeves with slightly gathered pleats at the top of the shoulders that add a little volume and a charming curved hemline at the front. Two patch pockets at the lower front. A matching fitted high waist belt skirt with a zipper at rear and with a small slit on one side. This suit is lined in black rayon, the sleeves are unlined. Behind the story: YSL Quote : The heart has been the emblem and the symbol of Yves Saint Laurent since the first heart necklace was produced by Scemama, in 1962. It featured in the first two collections in 1962, and a second version reappeared regularly from 1979 to 2000. It would be brought to the catwalk in a shoebox on the day the show and Yves Saint laurent would place it on his favourite design or model in the collection. This ritual handing out of the ‘Heart’ was an eagerly awaited part of the show for the public during the runway. Yves Saint Laurent quoted ‘without an elegance of the heart, there is no elegance’.
