Condition A: Vintage-Preowned, HERMÈS Vintage 1985 JIGE Clutch 29 (this is the original older version of the Jige clutch the new version is called ELAN ), a forty-one-year-old collector piece. In very good vintage condition, normal aged related wear hardly noticeable small micro marks, the interior is beautiful and cleaned with tiny marks as per photos. Signed HERMÈS PARIS MADE IN FRANCE, stamped with a letter 0 in the circle and with the maker initials. Delivered with a HERMÈS box and dust-bag.

Large H closure on the flap, the iconic H closure secures the top flap, off-white beige canvas interior lining. Can be carried by hand and or by passing a scarf or a chain or any strap inside to wear over the shoulder A ‘Must-Have’ a collector Jige Clutch (the vintage version) for day time, dinners or for cocktail parties in the evening.

The Story Behind: HERMÈS JIGE ENVELOPE-STYLE CLUTCH

The Hermès Jige clutch was first introduced in 1975. It was designed by Jean Guerrand, Emile Hermès’s son-in-law, who named it using his own initials (J.G.) and he originally presented the clutch as a wedding gift to one of his future daughters-in-law.

The Jige clutch has become a classic and versatile design, available in several sizes and leathers and remains in production today. The current collection includes the Jige Elan, a slightly more rectangular version (L29 x H15 x D2.5 cm) of the original Jige clutch produced in 1975 (L29 x H20 x D3.5 cm). The new clutch is available in various sizes (Mini, PM, GM, and Elan) and leathers such as Swift, Box, and Clémence. The Jige Mini comes with a strap, much resembling a wallet on a chain. Alternatively, the Jige Elan is a more rectangular clutch that comes in two sizes: 29 cm and 35 cm.
