The Story Behind: Who is Marc Bohan – Marc Bohan was a prominent French fashion designer best known as the creative director for Christian Dior for nearly 30 years, from 1960 to 1989. He replaced Yves Saint Laurent and was famous for introducing the “Slim Look” collection in 1961, defining a more understated, elegant style that gained loyal clientele, including Grace Kelly and Princess Caroline of Monaco…As the longest-serving Dior designer, he brought a “sophisticated and modern” aesthetic to the haute couture house, moving away from more theatrical designs. He produced amazing jewellery using the best material and stylish sophisticated look and design. In the 70s the design was more like “boho chic” aesthetic, featuring long-line pendants and stacked gold bracelets, often to complement the clothing designed by Marc Bohan during this era…

Who is Henkel & Grossé: Henkel & Grossé (often signed as Grossé with the French accent) is a renowned German jewellery company known for high-quality costume jewellery, most notably for its 50-year partnership producing jewellery for Christian Dior. They held an exclusive license to produce jewellery for CHRISTIAN DIOR from 1955 until 2000. They were using high-quality, 24k gold-plated pieces, Swarovski crystals, including chunky resin necklaces, cabochon brooches, poured glass and multi-strand chains. During this era, jewellery is often stamped-marked with an oval or sometimes rectangular cartouche reading “Chr.Dior” or “Christian Dior”, the year of production with a copyright symbol followed by “Germany”. Jewellery from this era are often highly collectible.
