The Story Behind: Jeanne Lanvin was a pioneering French haute couture designer who founded the Lanvin fashion house in 1889, which became the oldest continuously operating French fashion house.

Lanvin vintage logo brand tag: The logo on the tag, which depicts a mother and child, was inspired by a photograph of founder Jeanne Lanvin and her daughter, Marguerite, at a costume ball in 1907. The logo was created in 1923 by the French illustrator Paul Iribe. The address “22 Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Paris” is the location of the brand’s historic flagship store and headquarters. Jeanne Lanvin established her fashion house at this prestigious address in 1893. Serial Number: The number “15977” on the tag is a registration number for the design. Such numbers were commonly used on French boutique and couture lines to register the design, help prevent counterfeits, and track details about the design, such as who created it and for which collection. This type of vintage brand tag label with the mother and child logo and the specific address is often associated with vintage Lanvin pieces.
