A casual, chic Hermès Picotin 22 cm handbag in Rouge-Red togo leather with palladium metal hardware. This Picotin Lock bag is perfectly designed like a bucket bag, it is spacious with a casual look. The Picotin is handcrafted with Togo leather, it is a soft and supple grained leather, its structure coming solely from its rectangular base with four studded feet. Its edges are rounded thanks to its “retourné” construction, which means the Hermès artisan turns the bag inside out after the stitching is completed. There is no pockets, the interior is lined with red suede. It is a lightweight handbag, the Picotin bucket bag has always been a fan favourite, and its popularity continues to grow, a “Must-Have” for everyday casual, chic look!

The Story Behind: Hermès introduced the Picotin Lock handbag in 2002 as a modern reinterpretation of its equestrian heritage. The bucket-style design, inspired by a horse’s feedbag and named after the French unit for measuring horse feed (“Picotin”), debuted that year with the signature Kelly lock closure. It is said that Hermès’ first true customer was the horse. Perhaps more overtly than any other Hermès bag, the PICOTIN LOCK bag is a testament to these equestrian roots. Its bucket-shaped silhouette is inspired by the feed bag often seen hanging from a horse’s ears. Indeed, the name “Picotin” is an old French term for a measure of oats!
