A luxury, sophisticated vintage CHRISTIAN DIOR Emerald Gripoix chain necklace and Earrings set. Handcrafted in rich gold plated metal chain and set with stunning Gripoix emerald surrounded by diamante Swarovski crystals and with tapered baguette stones. This set is designed like the finest high end jewellery, the epitome of luxury and sophistication and luxury. The necklace is finished with additional adjustable links with the iconic CD logo hangtag fastener. A “Must-Have” the perfect glamour evening jewellery set to fit with your evening outfit!

Behind the Story: Christian Dior’s jewellery uses a range of glass stones, including Swarovski crystals for their iridescent effects, particularly with the “Aurora Borealis” coating, and poured glass from Madame Gripoix or lucite to create specific colours and textures, such as faux lapis lazuli or floral designs. Other materials used in their costume jewellery include Austrian crystals, cultured pearls, and various semi-precious stones.

Poured Glass and Perspex: Floral themes were often created using poured glass, while other pieces incorporated perspex (also known as lucite) to achieve specific colours or effects. Christian Dior has used Gripoix glass in its vintage jewellery collections, collaborating with Maison Gripoix, the renowned French firm, for its first jewellery collections in 1948 and continuing to feature the high-quality poured glass in pieces throughout its history. Christian Dior used other Materials such as Austrian Crystals: Alongside Swarovski, Dior also used other Austrian crystals in their costume jewellery. They also used cultured pearls in some of their designs. Christian Dior also used other semi-precious stones, though glass was a primary material for their costume jewellery.

Collaboration: Maison Gripoix created many of the high-quality, handmade poured glass elements for early Dior jewellery collections, starting in 1948. These Gripoix components were known for their superior craftsmanship and design, similar to those they produced for other notable brands like Chanel.
