CHRISTIAN DIOR Vintage Earrings Pave Crystal Art Deco Diamond Cut Style C.1947-1958

This is a timeless very rare statement vintage CHRISTIAN DIOR by Roger Jean-Pierre, Art Deco style pave clip-on earrings. It is a rectangular clip-on, handcrafted with Swarovski crystals, set with seven rows of five crystal cut diamonds style, centered with a large crystal cut mounted in silver plated. A very rare, statement Christian Dior clip-on earrings, a ‘Must-Have’ to add to your vintage collection pieces.

The story Behind: From 1940 to 1946, Roger Jean-Pierre created fashion designs for Jean Clement. After World War II, specifically between 1947 and 1958, Roger Jean-Pierre was the Director of Maison Francis Winter where he collaborated on jewellery and accessories for Christian Dior, Balenciaga, Grès, Balmain and Lelong. Roger Jean-Pierre jewellery are characterised by glamorous designs. Roger Jean-Pierre pieces again favoured crystal gems in their designs and he had exclusive use of Swarovski’s ‘brilliant’ stones. Roger Jean-Pierre produced a lot of pieces that sold very well in the American market. They are often handcrafted with rhinestones carefully set into intricate patterns. His pieces are high fashion and look as if they were meant for the elite group of models who adorn the pages of Vogue Magazine. A noted craftsman, Roger Jean-Pierre drew his inspirations from the fine detailing of the Edwardian era. He always made the prototypes himself and, at his prime, worked only for the greatest couturiers. In 1960 Jean-Pierre opened his own atelier in Paris and continued designing with inspiration drawn from the 18th century that was Edwardian in style and workmanship.

Most of the pieces designed by the French ‘Paruriers’ Roger Jean-Pierre and Francis Winter for Dior weren’t signed. It is sometimes stamped ‘Made in France.
