CHANEL Vintage 2.55 Double Flap Bag Circa 60s-70s W/Box
A very rare vintage CHANEL 2.55 bag from 1960s-1970s in dark brown chocolate colour. It is handcrafted in Jersey quilted fabric with a Mademoiselle twist lock clasp and with a Mademoiselle double gold tone jewel chain strap. The gold hardware (chain strap and lock) have been replaced by Chanel and they are in fabulous condition. There is a half moon slit pocket at the rear. The interior is lined with red grosgrain fabric and has two compartments. One front pocket and another compartment with a double slit pocket at the rear. Under the flap there is one zipper pocket with the Eclair zipper. This vintage bag can be worn on the shoulder with the double strap or crossbody with the single long strap. This vintage bag was designed by Coco Chanel and the 2.55 refers specifically to Coco Chanel’s original design with the Mademoiselle Lock. The Mademoiselle Lock got its name from the fact that Coco Chanel never married. In the 1980s Karl Lagerfeld designed the Iconic CC twist-lock and later on around 2005 Karl Lagerfeld designed the Reissue in various material with CC twist-lock and Mademoiselle twist lock.
