The Story Behind: LANVIN Vintage Jewellery from 1960s - 1984 Jeanne-Marie Lanvin (1 January 1867 – 6 July 1946) was a French Haute Couture fashion designer. She founded the Lanvin fashion house and the beauty and perfume company Lanvin Parfums. Jeanne Lanvin was making dresses for their mothers and some of the most famous names in Europe were included in the clientele of her new boutique on the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris. In the 1920s, Lanvin opened shops devoted to home décor, menswear, furs and lingerie. In 1921, Lanvin created Lanvin Décoration with celebrated architect Armand Albert Ratea. When Jeanne Lanvin passed away in July 1946, leadership of the fashion house went to her only child, her daughter Marguerite Lanvin (by then known as Countess Marie-Blanche de Polignac). During the 1970s, jewellery and accessories from Lanvin were created under the creative direction of head designer Jules-François CRAHAY, who led the Parisian fashion house's design ateliers from 1964 through 1984. In the 70s Lanvin jewellery pieces were significantly larger, the rich gold tone was heavier. The jewellery were much more expressive compared to the previous decades.
